When I came to Laurelwood in 1952, the buildings that where there and still are here are: Administration Building. Girls dorm, Powerhouse, Creamery, Ice storage house, Laurelwood store, Old community store, Front part of elementary school, Small house by what was the farm, House up in back of where the barn was.
Buildings that have gone away are: Old girls dorm used as music building in 52 (between new boy’s and new girl’s dorms), Old girls and then boys residence barracks (in back and east of boy’s dorm), Old gym with math, science & homeec classes under the gym(East of the boy’s dorm), The old powerhouse laundry and woodworking classrooms above, old boy’s dorm that was boy’s residence along with the barracks in 52 then used as music building when new boy’s dorm was completed and old girls dorm was torn down (below the new boy’s dorm). The old elementary building was converted to door factory and later torn down to make way for Harris Pine Mills buildings(across Laurelwood road from the powerhouse), the old Laurelwood Church (across Laurelwood road from the new gym)
